The year was 1999. Things were different back then. For example, my rent was only $400 a month! Gas was $1.25, Bill Clinton was President, the economy was doing great, and there was no internet! Teenagers used to go the mall to hang out with there friends. Yup, life sure was different; a lot simpler now that I stop and think about it. It was here where I saw a movie that is now celebrating its 20th anniversary! And yes, that makes me feel old! Now, thanks to Sony Pictures, they are bringing back the teen cult classic CRUEL INTENTIONS for a one week engagement, and, of course, I went and saw it over at the Cinemark Century Oakridge 20, where I saw it originally all those years ago.
The film's official synopsis: Annette (Reese Witherspoon) unwittingly becomes a pawn in
Sebastian's (Ryan Phillippe) and Kathryn's (Sarah Michelle Gellar)
deliciously diabolical wager of sexual conquest when she writes an
article in Seventeen Magazine about how she intends to stay pure until
she marries her boyfriend. However, Sebastian gets more than he bargained for as he attempts to woo Annette into his bed.
is playing for one week only at select theaters, including the Cinemark Century 20 Oakridge here in the Bay Area. To view showtimes, visit cinemark.com.
Thanks for reading, and enjoy the show!
